Unfortunately, we left one of our stainless steel Klean Kanteen water bottles at a hotel in Worcester Massachusetts on a road trip we took in early July. I’ve had a difficult time replacing it because Arbour Environmental Shoppe (where I’d originally purchased it) sells out within a few days of recieving each shipment and I always seem to arrive at their door a day too late. Fortunately, there’s another source in town: www.plasticfreeplanet.com.
Plasticfreeplanet is run by Jackie MacNair who sells the bottles on-line and at the Ottawa Organic Farmer’s Market each Saturday. (BTW, it’s cash only on Saturdays but if you want to pay by credit card you can buy on-line and then pick-up at the market.) She sells four sizes of stainless steel water bottles–355 ml, 532 ml, 800 ml, and 1183 ml–and four styles of lid–sport lid, sippy cup lid, loop lid, and flat lid.
I wish Jackie all the best in her new role as enviropreneur.
Ottawa Organic Farmer’s Market, 10 am to 2 pm every Saturday year round at the Canada Care Building behind the Canadian Tire at Heron and Bank.

They are in Wakefield. I have never ordered anything or gotten any feedback from anyone who has and can’t remember where I found the link (from here maybe?). But it’s another option for sure.
Darren and I were up in the Glebe on Saturday and stopped at the Arbour shop. They had a bunch of the bottles there in three sizes. I got one of the larger ones and there were about 8 left in that size.
If you’re quick… 🙂
Thanks so much for your support! I greatly appreciate it.
hi i enjoyed the read
Good to know – I was disappointed by Mountain Equipment Coop’s official stance on the plastic bottles such as nalgene that contain the highly questionable bisphenol-A which has caused reproductive changes in lab animals.
They say that since health canada says its ok, so do they.

Gaela,
I tried to contact MEC about using our company envirobottles.ca to promote MEC with a branded stainless steel bottle.
There repy was “no thanks we already have lots of bottles”.
We currently sell stainless bottles and Wrap-N-Mats for a garbage free lunch for the kids.
I realy hope more people in the ottawa area start to use bottles. We have one of the top tested water supplies in north america.
There is no reason why people should be purchasing water in plastic.
Please let us know what we can do to help with the water bottle fight.
thanks
Corey
