What would it take for people to feel safe while biking? That’s what the Ottawa Bicycle Lanes Project is asking.
Through I would bike if…, Michael Napiorkowski and Maayke Schurer, who co-founded the Ottawa Bicycle Lanes Project, are spreading the word about the benefits of protected bike lanes. They’ve also been compiling information on other cities’ experiences with protected lanes, and have posted a petition that people can sign. The petition asks Ottawa’s mayor and councillors to make segregated bike lanes part of the city’s transportation system, in order to prevent further cycling casualties, encourage people to cycle and keep Ottawa liveable.
You can find out more at I would bike if…, the Ottawa Bicycle Lanes Project or Michael’s earlier guest post on Green Living Ottawa.
